A man of Livingstone has died after a poisonous chemical was forced into his mouth by two criminals who later got away with his K12 million cash.
Police Spokesperson Elizabeth Kanjela tells QFM that the incident happened on 21st May, 2012 around 21:00 hours in Livingstone.
She explains that Elias Zimba of Zambia Railways compound was attacked by the two criminals he booked from Mungongo bus station who were driving an unknown vehicle, as he was coming from Mwandi, Sesheke in district.
Ms Kanjela says the victims drove their motor vehicles to Dalise wall fence where a chemical was put into the victim%u2019s mouth before robbing him.
She narrates that the victim was rushed to Batoka hospital and later died on 22nd May, 2012 around 16:00 hours, and that his body is lying in the hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem.
She says Police have since launched investigations with a view of getting hold of the suspects.
Ms Kanjela says the Police Service has noted with sadness that such cases have now become common were people are posing as tax drivers and later turn on the unsuspecting clients.
She has since urged members of the public to be on the lookout for such criminals.
