RB told off for writing to Bush

Former Republican President Rupiah Banda has been castigated for writing to former US president George Bush's office.

Governance activist Maurice Malambo says the behavior exhibited by former head of state Rupiah Banda over the misconstrued remarks made by republican president Michael Sata to Former US president George Bush, constitutes a short circuit of international diplomacy on his part.

Malambo says Mr. Banda's action reflects a great deal of malice towards President Sata and his government.
He says if indeed Mr. Banda was a true leader, he would have exercised diplomacy to directly engage his colleague in highest confidence in order to get the rightful position on the remarks made.

Malambo has observed Mr. Banda's action has the potential to trigger a rift between the Zambian people and the international community.

He says what Mr. Banda did is not just un-presidential but also far below a behavior befitting a senior citizen.

Mr. Banda recently sent a letter of apology to former US president George Bush's office on behalf of the Zambian people following some remarks president Michael Sata made during Bush%u2019s recent visit to Zambia.
