Club chairman Lloyd Mwale said they had also terminated the contract of assistant coach Weston Mumba as part of a clean-up exercise.

" We have appointed Mr Wilson Mwale as the new coach to lead us up to the end of the season. He has been coach at Nakambala before so he knows what is required," Mwale said.

"Immediately Mr Simukonda left we decided to also terminate his assistant's contract because we are trying to clean up."

Meanwhile Nchanga Rangers has been dodgy on the reported engagement of Fighton Simukonda with the planned unveiling ceremony put off at the last minute on Saturday.

With sponsors Konkola Copper Mines gearing up for the ceremony the media were left in the cold when news emerged that Simukonda was attending to family business.

Blackwell Siwale said negotiations were yet to be concluded.
