Skipper Chris Katongo leads the African champions' squad in next Wednesday's international FIFA calendar date clash against 2002 World Cup semi-finalists South Korea.
According to a list made available to www.fazfootball.com by FAZ Spokesperson Erick Mwanza, FC Utrecht top striker Jacob Mulenga makes a return to the Chipolopolo after nearly a year on the sidelines with injury.
Rising defender Aaron Katebe from the Zambia Development Team which beat Zimbabwe 2-1 at Levy Mwanawasa on Wednesday also gets a nod for the anticipated tough clash of the continental giants. FC Gent Roger Kola makes a return to a squad illuminated by the superstars of the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations finals.
The legion of stars at TP Mazembe are exempted because CAF has set aside this date due to continental engagements. TP Mazembe is presently in Zambia where they are preparing for the Orange CAF Champions league.Said Mwanza: "We are looking forward to what will be a very tough and exciting match. It is challenges like these which help us continue developing and enhancing our competitiveness in Africa and the world."
"As stated in our policy, we shall continue to play these high profile matches on FIFA international dates as well as continue exposing our development team during non FIFA dates because that ensures that our competitiveness and future is secured," Mwanza said.
South Korea hosts Zambia in an international match in Seoul on Wednesday 15th August.
