President Michael Sata has sent his deepest condolences to the families of the eleven people who died in a tragic road accident that occurred around 20:40 hours in Southern province.
11 people have died while 12 others sustained serious injuries when the vehicle they were travelling on was involved in a road traffic accident at Kamunga area along Pemba/Choma road in Monze.
The accident happened when the driver of the ERF truck reg no. ACP 9975 and trailer Reg no ACL 8882 belonging to Quatrol Co limited of Kitwe was coming from the north to south failed to keep his side whilst negotiating a corner.
In the process, the truck collided with a ROSA minibus Reg no GRZ 645 BL which was coming from the opposite direction.
President Sata has expressed concern at the continued deaths of citizens through road traffic accidents.
He has assured the nation that his government will do everything possible to improve the safety on the country%u2019s roads.
The head of state says he is deeply saddened at the loss of the productive lives, who were among the farmers and agricultural field officers returning from the Livingstone Agriculture and commercial show.
President Sata has also wished the 12 injured victims admitted to Monze mission hospital a speedy recovery, urging the hospital authorities to do everything possible to save their lives.
