CSOs challenged to play a critical role in Constitution making process

Former Works and Supply Minister Mike Mulongoti has challenged Civil Society organisations to take center stage in educating Zambians on the ongoing constitution making process.

Speaking in an interview with Qfm news, Mr. Mulongoti says there is need to simplify the technical legal language in the document to Zambians in order to allow informed submissions.

He says the whole Constitution making process will be rendered un-inclusive if it does not take on board views of the general populace.

Mr. Mulongoti further explains that CSOs have a critical role to play in the process and ensure that every Zambians is reached and understands the provision contained in the draft.

He says it will therefore be important for all stakeholders to take advantage e of the extension period to ensure that Zambians access the document and make informed submissions.
