FIFA defers Zambia%u2019s bonus point dream.

FIFA has deferred the highly anticipated disciplinary case between Sudan and Zambia in which the former fielded an ineligible player during a Brazil 2012 World Cup qualifier on June 2.

Zambians are anxiously waiting for a bonus three-point decision in their favour although indications suggest the complaint was failed out of time and therefore void.

The matter was scheduled to be tabled before a disciplinary committee hearing today but was not part of the agenda with FIFA saying; %u201Cit will take a bit of time.%u201D

Responding to a press query from bolayathu.com, FIFA said the case was not part today%u2019s agenda due to insufficient information available.

Zambia is hoping to jump into Group D leadership with a bonus point decision following an administrative lapse on the part of Sudan who fielded an ineligible player.

Chipolopolo lost 2-0 but its FA was clueless about the Sudanese gaffe and only learnt of the development after that country%u2019s media exposed the anomaly by which time the FIFA stipulated time frame for complaints had long expired.

Sudan lead the pool with four points while Ghana is second with three points, same as Zambia, but the Blacks Stars enjoy a healthy goal difference.

Lesotho is rock-bottom of the table at one-point. The next series of the qualifiers will be played in March 2013 with Zambia travelling to the mountain kingdom.
