Vice President Guy Scot has expressed shock at the levels of under-development currently obtaining in Muchinga constituency in central province.
Dr Scot wondered why the MMD was bragging of having taken development to the area when the situation on the ground was terrible.
The Vice President expressed dismay at the poor state of the road network, lack of clean drinking water and the dilapidated school infrastructures most of which did not have teachers.
Dr. Scott has urged the electorates in the area to vote for the PF candidate for them to see tangible development in the constituency as he would have the full backing of Government.
He was speaking in Muchinga yesterday were he was drumming up support for PF candidate Jeliaty Ntembwa in the July 5 parliamentary by election.
Dr Scot said the PF candidate is their only hope of getting out of poverty which the MMD Government despite having the Vice President as Member of Parliament in the area failed to do in the 20 years they were in power.
And the PF Campaign Manager Geoffrey Mwamba urged the electorates to vote for a candidate that will work with government to foster development in the area.
Mr. Mwamba told the electorates that if they voted for an opposition candidate, they would remain under-developed for at least another five years.
And the PF candidate in the Muchinga parliamentary by-election, Jeliaty Ntembwa stated that once voted into office, he would embark on an ambitious development programme to change the face of the area.
Mr. Ntembwa promised to work on the road network and the construction of schools as these required urgent attention.
